Bones of Glass signs for.....
Reading!

Championship side Reading have signed former West Ham United and England striker Andy Carroll on a short-term deal until the middle of January.

More fool them! Another person to fill their treatment table no doubt- stealing a living yet again!

He amassed 1365 days of injures out 2190 . I believe that make him the biggest waste of money signing we ever had if you put into context his fee and his wages in 6 years, which would equate to £42 Million. With Haller at least we had about half out money back.

Scored a goal and then went off injured.
Encapsulates his career.

To think we give him a f**king SIX YEAR CONTRACT, one of the longest in our history. Thanks a lot Fat Sam!

Re: Bones of Glass signs for.....
Liverpool’s massive mistake in signing him made it easier for us to make the same mistake - that and his agent having a close relationship with our manager.

Andy Carroll - the player that got better in mythology the more he didn’t play

Scored a good goal last weekend against Swansea, out paced and out muscled the defenders.

Also found due to Reading's financial restrictions he is given a set pay is at £1000 per week compared when we paid him £85000 a week. He must be desperate and must have been mugs. The only time he reach double figures, goal was in the Championship over 11 years ago, looks like that his real level. Yep we were real mugs having him in our squad.

Now dreading getting Reading in the FA Cup...

...maybe "dreading" is a bit too strong...

...but it's at least possible that the last goal of his career puts us out.

A 2 month contract is very ambitious from Reading.

I would have given him a 1 week contract, see if he can last 1 game without getting injured.

Leeshere -Stan Collymore referred to him as a "wrecking ball of a player that can smash any defence". I as well as many others were hoping that he would do that constantly. Sadly, it wasn't to be.

He doesn't scare anyone. I've had more kids than he's scored goals in the last 4 years.

With our current set piece brilliance, wouldn’t mind Carroll coming off the bench for the last 10 minutes for us if needed. Carroll, Souchek, Dawson, Zouma all attacking a corner will s**t a few defences up!

He could do a very good job for them. Short contract, probably an option on top. Good signing for them, imo.

Re: Bones of Glass signs for.....
He actually might be more effective given the new rules and extra contact that refs are allowing this season. He was constantly pulled up for fouls for us jumping into people or using his arms.
He really has lost his spring and ability to leap that made him a powerhouse in the air now. Doesn't have too much more to his game. Decent enough on the deck but not prolific, no pace, doesn't make runs in behind and isn't a poacher who reads the game.
Pretty much a battering ram when you are going to keep launching it into the air.
He'll be back looking for a club in January.

Good signing. He wasn’t actually injured that much at all at Newcastle.
